15- Healthy Start Home Visits: Births and Infants Within the Last Year and Breastfeeding Status

The section below contains information about one of the tabs in the Maternal & Child Health (MCH) Report.

Reminder: For each visit a KDHE Program Visit Form and a Service Form must be completed with matching Date of Activity and the correct program selection to ensure that all clients/visits are counted in reports.

Data Source

The Number of Clients Who Have Given Birth Within The Last Year or Who are Infants is calculated from ‘Is this a Healthy Start home visit?’ and ‘Have you given birth in the last year or is this visit for an infant?’ on the MCH Service Form for any client indicated as being pregnant during the date range.

Troubleshooting Tip

Records in ‘Unknown/Not Reported’ are from MCH service forms where the question ‘Have you given birth in the last year or is this visit for an infant?’ was left blank.  These blank responses should be corrected to ensure high quality of data for this report.

Data Source

The Number of Healthy Start Clients by Breastfeeding Status is calculated from ‘Is this a Healthy Start home visit,’ ‘Have you given birth in the last year or is this visit for an infant?’ and subsequently ‘Breastfeeding?’ selected on the MCH Service Form for any clients with a yes response to ‘Have you given birth in the last year or is this visit for an infant?’ during the date range.
